The Obama administration is preparing to take executive action on immigration. We encourage the administration NOT to take executive action but rather to work through the legislative process, however difficult and time-consuming, to ensure it is consistent with the wishes of citizens of the United States and not special interests. Real wages have stagnated and the labor participation rate is at a historical low. The onslaught of technology and automation are sure to increase competition for both skilled and unskilled workers. Broad executive action, legalizing millions of currently undocumented workers will not benefit American citizens and those struggling to find employment and work their way up the economic ladder. Executive action is not the way forward.
