On Aug 21, 2013 a 20-year-old man entered a school near Atlanta, GA with an AK-47 and 500 rounds of ammunition. Risking her own life, school clerk Antoinette Tuff reached deep within herself to find the courage to confront this confused young man with kindness, compassion, and a way out of the situation he found himself in. In the process, she saved more than 850 lives and showed America what it means to be a hero. For this courageous act, Antoinette deserves to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom, our deepest respect, and our admiration.
