SFC Alwyn C. Cashe was mortally wounded, basically allowing himself, willfully to literally burn to death in a heroic attempt to save 6 of his Brothers In Arms trapped inside of a burning Bradley. SFC Cashe, covered in fuel rushed to the vehicle, igniting himself. He heroically struggled to lower the ramp, all the while on fire himself. Upon the lowering of the ramp SFC Cashe, still on fire, entered the vehicle 3 times removing his trapped and dazed Brothers. SFC Cashe died on November 8,2005 from his injuries.
