The legendary Vin Scully has probably entertained more people with the sounds of sports than anyone in history.
He is now broadcasting a record 65th baseball season, still with the Dodgers, having started in Brooklyn in 1950 and since 1958 in Los Angeles.
Over the years, he's also put his brilliant, precise style to work for national networks and other sport competitions.
The Presidential Medal of Freedom has been awarded to sports figures like Ted Williams and broadcasters including Walter Cronkite and Oprah Winfrey.
It would be wonderful for President Obama to honor Vin Scully while this modest 86-year-old "voice of summer" and national treasure is still at the microphone, still going strong.
