Charles Albert Poland, Jr. gave his life to protect the children on his school bus when it was stormed by a gunman on January 29, 2013. He placed himself in between the children and a gunman, allowing for most of the kids to exit the bus. This embodies all that is right about Americans, and he deserves to be recognized properly with the Medal of Freedom.
