Award each service member wounded in the attack in Chatanooga, TN the Purple Heart, and those killed the Navy Cross.

Created by A.E. on July 27, 2015

The service members in the Navy and Marine Corps that were wounded in the attack on military installations in Chattanooga, TN should qualify for the Purple Heart given:

"Being wounded or killed in any action against an enemy of the United States or as a result of an act of any such enemy or opposing armed forces"

Those killed should receive the Navy Cross given:

"The Navy Cross may be awarded to any member of the U.S. Armed Forces while serving with the Navy, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard who distinguishes himself or herself in action by extraordinary heroism...' '...While engaged in action against an enemy of the United States'"

We should honor those running towards gunfire knowing very well that they were unjustly unarmed. And we must strive to make sure that it never happens again
