Edward Snowden leaked information showing that the NSA has been monitoring and tracking citizens indiscriminately through an extensive program called PRISM. He should be commended for his bravery and efforts to protect privacy, Internet freedom and basic liberties. His actions meet the criteria by being "especially meritorious contribution to the security or national interests of the United States, world peace, cultural or other significant public or private endeavors."
