From the early 1960's to present day, the many members of The Grateful Dead have continuously played their music, whether solo or collaborations with other artists . They have allowed people to record their concerts, as long it is not for profit, and have contributed and donated to many charitable organizations and benefits. The Grateful Dead, as a whole, should be awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom for their musical/artistic/humanitarian efforts.
