Petty Officer Second Class Mark Mayo died in the line of duty protecting his shipmates and vessel to which he was assigned in Norfolk VA. He was postmortem award the Navy and Marine Achievement medal. The NAM is a very low medal usually many are given out just as End of Tour awards. I Request that Mark Mayo be given a medal fitting the sacrifices he made that day. So that his family and friends may be comforted to know that his sacrifice has been noted and appreciated.
