award a medal commending the service of L/Cpl Joshua Leakey of the 1st Bn the Parachute Regiment.

Created by S.C. on February 26, 2015

During a joint operation with the United States Marines, L/Cpl Joshua Leakey of the 1st Bn the Parachute Regiment in a village south of Nowzad in Helmand, on August 22, 2013 demonstrated valor in the line of duty. His actions single-handedly regained the initiative and prevented considerable loss of life, allowing a wounded US Marine officer to be evacuated during an extremely unbalanced firefight.

Because of his act of heroism and valor, we the people believe that this soldier should be recognized for his valor in the line of duty which led to the aid and saved life of our Marines in a deadly hostile zone.

This act deserves the respect of our country for being instrumental in bringing our cherished soldiers home, to family that would have missed them dearly otherwise.
