Gen Petraeus served the USA well everywhere he was assigned, including Iraq, Afghanistan and Centcom. He was beginning to put his mark at the CIA when he resigned after admitting to extra marital affairs. He has since also admitted to improper handling of classified materials.
He does not deny that his transgressions were grave and that he broke the military code of conduct. Even so, this petition is to seek forgiveness and to restore Patraeus to service in view of his acclaimed skills and patriotism.
