Award the Medal of Honor to Lance Corporal Josh Leakey of the British Army's 1st Battalion, Parachute Regiment (1 PARA).

Created by J.F. on February 26, 2015

L/Cpl Josh Leakey saved dozens of American lives on a joint US/UK assault led by the US Marines to disrupt a key insurgent group. With a Marine Captain shot & two machine guns pinned down, Josh charged 3x into withering enemy machine gun fire, initiating first aid & a casualty evacuation for the wounded officer, then charged up the hill to get one of the suppressed machine guns back into action while rounds literally impacted off of the frame of the gun itself. He maneuvered the gun to a better position & got it firing again, then ran to the bottom of the hill, picked up the 2nd machine gun & charged back up the hill, directly into a barrage of enemy machine gun fire, repositioned the gun & returned fire once again, turning the tide of the battle. He deserves to receive the Medal of Honor.
