Tyler Doohan was an 8 year old who sacrificed himself to save six of seven of his relatives in a fire at his home in upstate New York. His actions are a symbol of true heroism, and he should be remembered not as a boy, but a true hero. While he has been given a Fire Department of New York burial with full honors, this petition would like to go one step further in the remembrance of young Tyler by having President Obama posthumously award him the Congressional Medal of Honor, as this act of bravery and courage like no other should be a model for how people should act in the future to come.
