We petition President Obama to honor Piers Morgan with a Presidential Citizens Medal for his principled stand on ending the scourge of violence created by firearms in the USA. Mr Morgan has recognized that a logical approach to reducing violence, similar to that which killed 26 innocent people in Newtown, is to reduce the abundance of firearms in the US. He had the courage to state this position on his TV show and pro-gun advocates are attacking him for it. We believe that President Obama should award him a medal for his stand, and since this can only be awarded to US citizens, we further petition that Mr Morgan be given an honorary US citizenship at the same time. We need more people with his character and principles, not more guns.
