The Story of Doris Miller is one of courage and heroism. The story of a man who, on December 7, 1941, could have jumped over board when he realized that his battle station had been destroyed, but he decided to stay and help, like many others, staying by his mortally wounded Captain's side, and when he died, Miller went to a anti aircraft position, and even though he had no training, fired the weapon in defense of his ship, only abandoning his ship when she finally sank into the mud of Pearl Harbor.
