James Hansen, prominent NASA climate scientist, has been one of the leading figures in alerting the world to the dangers of runaway climate change. He has been at the forefront of climate science and has presented his scientific evidence to government leaders and citizens alike since the 1980's in hopes of creating the action we need to ensure our children have a chance at a reasonable climate future. He has tirelessly put himself on the line to fight the climate denial machine of the fossil fuel industries as well a government inertia. Hansen dedicates his life to help humanity come to grips with this most pressing issue of our time, the climate crisis, and he deserves this recognition. (link)
