To award the Presidential Medal of Freedom to the 19 Firefighters of the Granite Mountain Hotshots of Prescott, AZ.

Created by B.H. on July 18, 2013

On June 30, 2013, 19 brave and experienced men responded to a call involving a fire on Yarnell Hill in Arizona. Little did they know, this would be there last call. The 19 men were surrounded quickly by the fire, cutting them off to any point of exit. These brave men died doing what they loved, and they died trying to assist in the evacuation of local residents, as well as trying to control the blaze. For this, these brave men deserve the highest honor the President of the United States can bestow upon citizens.
