Award the Presidential Medal of Freedom with Distinction to Victoria Soto for her bravery and sacrificing her life to save her students during the Newtown, CT massacre.
Victoria was a Stratford high school graduate and only 27. She was killed on December 14th 2012 after she hid her first graders in closets and cabinets and told the shooter they were in the gym. He killed her and not one of her children were harmed. She sacrificed her life, throwing herself in front of the gunman, so that they may live. A true hero who deserves to be recognized for her valiant efforts.
