The hockey team of the Republic of Finland defeated our mutual geopolitical foe, Russia, 3-1 in a Winter War-level upset, eliminating Russia from medal contention in Men's Hockey. This is an especially large blow to Russia, which had put all it's hope in a gold medal for hockey in their home Olympics. Not only that, but Russian President Vladimir Putin was in attendance at the game to witness the loss. To commend the people of Finland for their glorious victory in the name of freedom, human rights, and the western lifestyle, it would only be appropriate that we, the world's greatest democracy, honor them with our greatest civilian honor, the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
