Award The Presidential Medal of Freedom to Ms. Antoinette Hill Tuff for saving the lives of her school children and the life of the would-be assailant.
Ms. Tuff displayed exemplary courage if the face of danger and applied emotional genius to de-escalate a very dangerous situation. By insisting upon speaking to the disturbed gunman as if he were a human being, and keeping him emotional connected to those around him, Ms. Tuff averted an almost certain disaster. Her courage and wisdom are exemplary.
For this, I say she deserves The Presidential Medal of Freedom in honor of her actions.
