The faculty, staff, and administration of Sandy Hook Elementary School, Newtown, CT, demonstrated heroism and valor in their efforts to protect their students. President Obama should recognize this by awarding the Presidential Medal of Freedom to the following individuals (posthumously, where necessary): Dawn Hochsprung (Principal), Mary Sherlach (Psychologist), , Victoria Soto (Teacher), Lauren Rousseau (Teacher), Maryrose Kristopik (Teacher), Kaitlin Roig (Teacher), Anne Marie Murphy (Teacher's Aide), and Rachel Davino (Teacher's Aide), along with others whose heroic actions have not yet come to light. Six of these women gave their lives to protect their students; the remaining two were no less heroic, although they themselves survived.
