Award the Presidential Medial of Freedom to Kaci Hickox, hero nurse and fighter for liberty and knowledge based policy.

In the face of the widespread irrational fear, her unjustified detention under inhumane conditions, and her further harassment and attempted subjugation to unreasonable and unnecessarily harsh quarantine requirements imposed by the governors of two states, Kaci alone stood up to those powerful forces in defense of, not only individual liberties, but also in defense of law and policy based on knowledge and science. She did this not only on her own behalf, but in support of her brave medical colleagues whose ability to provide essential services in this and future medical crises is of paramount importance to the successful conquest of such dangerous diseases and avoidance of further spread to our homeland and the rest of the world. For this she deserves our gratitude and highest recognition
