award public school teachers with 5 or more years of consecutive teaching experience 100% tuition loan forgiveness.

Created by D.G. on December 05, 2012

Teachers who have served at least 5 years in the classroom have passed the threshold of the majority of teachers who leave the profession. After 5 years, a teacher is much more likely to continue teaching as a career. These teachers, for the most part, are dedicated to their profession. They are also one of the largest groups of the American workforce who have student loans. Meanwhile, they earn within the lowest 20% of college graduates. Because of their dedication, they deserve a break in student loan repayment, regardless of subject, grade level, or school demographic (which is what many loan forgiveness programs are based on).
