In Brief:
Without any assistance available, his squads position surrounded and about to be over run during an ambush, Freddy, a 22 year old Squad Leader from East Brunswick, NJ runs through a barrage of fierce enemy fire to assist a wounded comrade. After administering first aid to the man, he takes over his machine gun and begins laying down a withering base of fire inflicting heavy casualties on the VC, repelling the ambush, before being mortally wounded.
