In the military, when someone performs personal acts of valor above and beyond the call of duty. Very few are still alive to be awarded this honor. On January 20, 2014, 8 year old Tyler Doohan saved 6 family members, to include a 4 and 6 year old, when a trailer they were staying in caught fire. Without regard for his own life, Tyler went back to save his Uncle who was disabled. Sadly, Tyler, his Uncle and the owner of the trailer had all passed in the burning of the trailer. At only 8 years old, Tyler went far above and beyond the call of duty of any person and especially years beyond his age. We the people request that Tyler be awarded the Medal of Freedom posthumously for his acts in saving his family and risking his life to help save others.
