Oh Monday, January 20th, nine year old Tyler Doohan lost his life saving six other people from the fire that engulfed his home. As the fire spread, Tyler woke the other people who all escaped. It was when Tyler went back to help his disabled grandfather that he succumbed to the smoke and flames. Tyler was given firefighters honors at his funeral and has been recognized around the country.
Mister President, we the people of the United States believe that Tyler Doohan exemplifies the qualities that the Presidential Medal of Freedom recognizes and further believe that he deserves our highest civilian honor. Tyler represents the hero that all of us wish to be. Please recognize him and immortalize his sacrifice in our nation's history.
