Victoria Soto should be awarded or nations highest civilian honor, The Presidential Medal of Freedom, for extraordinary heroism above and beyond the call of duty on Dec 14 2012 at Sandy Brook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.
Upon hearing gunfire, to protect her students, She hid them in closets and cabinets. When the gunman entered the room she, at great risk of her life and in the face of certain death, told him they were in the gym. He then killed her and moved on. Her quick thinking and steadfast resolve in the face of grave danger saved the lives of her students. Her unwavering devotion to the safety of her students is an inspiration to all and reflects the highest credit upon herself and the faculty of Sandy Brook Elementary. She gallantly gave her life for her students.
