Balance the Budget by eliminating the Dept. of Homeland Security and giving its mission to the Dept. of Defense.

Created by E.H. on May 16, 2013

The DoD is searching for a new identity with the end of Iraq and Afghanistan, and the gov't is dealing with the sequester and constant budgetary problems. I believe that we can kill two birds with one stone by
1. Eliminating the DoHS, a Bush-era experiment, and
2. Handing its entire mission to the DoD.
The positives involved in this move:
* Help balance the budget by eliminating a massive DoHS budget without increasing the DoD's budget a single dime.
*Eliminate the embarrassment of the TSA -- replace with Air Force Security Forces.
*Lock down the southern border and possibly provide relief to people displaced by near-civil war and economic collapse (aka: illegal aliens)-- something DoHS can't do, but the Army can.
*Give the DoD an identity and reduce internal push for future wars.
