The federal government must balance the federal budget sooner than later in order to secure our nation's financial future and national security. Debt service payments remove funds from necessary budgetary items, especially related to the security of our nation, and robs future generations of any hope of financial independence. Entitlements should be limited to any "discretionary" spending after all other national security items are paid.
