Gasahol is a terrible motor fuel. I have done extensive testing and compared to Benzine (regular gasoline) the miles per gallon is 25% less. When you add in the amount of diesel expended to grow what is turned into gasahol and the effect it has on food prices. It is a completely losing deal. I am all for renewables but $5 for a box of cornflakes while we get bad mileage off the alcohol produced is ridiculous. Add in the amount of subsidies paid to even get companies to produce it and you have a net loss for the consumer of not just motor fuel but of food. The farmers will be just fine without this subsidy. Heck subsidize corm if you want and give us free cereal. It would at least have a positive effect.
