Ban advertisements that photoshop their models to unreasonable beauty standards

Created by E.D. on May 13, 2013

Our country has faced many problems with self-image. 1 in 4 women have or have struggled with an eating disorder, and many adolescents are faced with billboards and media that show beautiful, thin women that are supposedly the "ideal woman." However, this image of beauty is unobtainable because advertisers digitally modify their models to unrealistic thinness and beauty to make their product more desirable. I think outlawing photoshopping of models in advertisements, celebrities in magazines, and women and men in the media is the first step towards battling America's issues with self-image and suppressing eating disorders.
