As a Doctor of education and concerned mom, I am compelled to start this petition. Did you know a 2oz alcohol hand sanitizer has the equivalent of 6 shots of vodka and is 140 proof! Kids are igniting it and using it as a dangerous weapon, drinking it and adding to beverages to poison teachers. The marketing of candy or cupcake scents to children pushed me over the top,especially, after hearing about a 5 year old, who came within 2 minutes of dying after taking sips of a strawberry-chocolate scented alcohol hand sanitizer.
Please go to Youtube and see kids drinking alcohol sanitizers and sign this petition to help me teach the very simple lesson: alcohol, in any form, has no place in schools and rest assured that there are now alcohol-free brands available in stores like Walgreens.
