Assault weapons were created for the sole purpose of killing as many people as possible in the shortest time possible. As such, their only conceivable place is on the battlefield. They have no legitimate purpose or place in any civilized society. The high velocity and high power at which the bullets are displaced make them more akin to weapons of mass carnage and physical and psychological devastation. Moreover, than numerous bullets that are stored in these magazines undoubtedly magnify their destructive aim. There is no legitimate reason to own such weapons outside the war theater.
