Ban all controlled substances, especially pain killing drugs, outright under any cirumstance.

The use of controlled substances in medicine, especially the use of narcotic pain killers, has wrought unparalleled havoc upon our society. Their use only serves to provide a privilaged few (i.e. the wealthy) with unnecessary comfort, while addiciting our population, especially children, at an obscene rate. The poor have no such access to medically administered comfort care. The use of all controlled substances should be banned outright, both in outpatient and inpatient settings. Pain is not life or health threatening and should therefore not be treated with addicitve medicines. The risk to society is simply far too grave. Pain is simply a thing of the mind and can be dealt with through less hazardous means. Narcotics/opiods and benzodiazapines in particular must be outlawed.
