Ban all homework, or out of school work from public schools.

Six to eight working hours of a child's day is more than enough, and to add onto that through the use of homework as a reinforcement tool is simply ridiculous. There is a major problem with our education system, if it is too inefficient to successfully teach the material in the allotted time. The homework associated problems are highlighted in the upper grade levels, where the work load sharply increases. For example, a high school student can get home at 5:00 pm, do homework until 12:00 am, or even later, then leave for school the next morning at 8:00 am. The outrageous quantity of homework has become a second school day itself, but one during which a teacher is not accessible, and you're supposed to be sleeping.
