We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Ban all mandatory 12 hour a day shift jobs.

Created by D.S. on June 29, 2016

I am asking congress to put a ban on all mandatory 12 hour a day shifts for jobs. Not voluntary, for those who are capable of working for that long, but for people like me who cannott get a job because I am unable to stand for that long without permanently injuring myself.
I am 23 years old with a surgical fixed knee, which in the eyes of the employer means, "unable to perform job essentials." I live in Lagrange, Georgia and most every job available, you MUST be able to do 12 hour rotating shifts along with overtime or you are fired.
These employers expect us to work 12 hours, go straight to bed and be able to do it again for another 6 to 7 days a week with no problem. This new work era is abusive. And I along with many others are unable to get a job let alone keep one.
