It makes no sense to sign any oath or contract with a 3rd party before starting a job that restricts what you can and cannot do at that job. The oath written by Grover Norquist is a prime example of the absolute chaos caused by both the expectation that all members of GOP take this oath as well as the expectation that all members adhere to this oath. This oath is not a part of The Constitution, which should be the only document these men and women are concerned about upholding.
The startling reality is that if a member of the GOP is approached with an oath like the one mentioned, and s/he refuses to sign it, the bid for re-election will face staunch and petty opposition. The power that these people have over Congress needs to end now.
No more outside oaths! Put the focus on duty!
