Military weapons are for killing not for hunting or protection. Why should the right to own guns be greater than the right of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness? The original authors of the second amendment never envisioned the weapons of today or how they would be used to murder innocents. We need common sense laws to ban assault weapons and the number of bullets for private use. Also thorough background checks on anyone receiving a gun by any means. Legal liability for anyone not making sure the gun they sell or give away is registered to the new owner in case it is used to commit a crime. At one time the Supreme court banned the use of sawed off shotguns and machine guns to protect public safety. We need this action again!
