We are asking that teaching of sexual orientation and gender identity in the public schools shall not be a required lesson in the curriculum, and parents shall retain the right to opt-out their child during the select material. Recent purposed lesson objectives in the Family Life Education Program in the Fairfax County Public School System include lessons on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity. If these lessons meet the Dept. of Education's general Health Standards of Learning, then parents will no longer have the option to opt-out their children from this curriculum.
I stand firm on not forcing the upcoming generations to be exposed and required to participate in curriculum regarding sexual orientation and gender identity.
