This is a petition to ban all existing and future semi-automatic firearms.
The more firearms in a community the more people are wounded and killed by firearms - this is not debatable. The semi-automatic firearms ban will reduce causalities and save lives particularly in the case of mass shootings. The ban will include provisions to buy back existing semi-automatic firearms and destroy them within a given time interval.
There are numerous data sources and studies that prove the correlation between firearm deaths and per capita firearm ownership. Some of these are:
