Ban and abolish laws, policies, and "special requirements" for specific breeds of dogs and their owners.

Created by S.F. on December 19, 2012

BSL can range from a ban of certain breeds to special rules such as muzzling, posting signs, and extra insurance. These dogs are ripped from their homes to be euthanized for no other reason than appearance. Outlawing certain breeds may encourage ownership by irresponsible owners, cause responsible owners to suffer the loss of their beloved pets, or incur costly legal fees fighting the system. The ASPCA, HSUS, AVMA, and the AKC all agree that BSL is ineffective. BSL is an uninformed, knee-jerk reaction that tears families apart and costs tax payer’s dollars. First was the Rottweiler, the Doberman, and then the German Shepherd. Now, it’s the Pit Bull. But many other breeds are targets too. When do we realize that dogs are just dogs and the “problem” lies at the other end of the leash!
