We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Ban application of corrosive de-icing chemicals to public roadways

Created by B.S. on May 16, 2016

We do hereby demand that the government ban the use of corrosive de-icing chemicals such as calcium chloride on all public roadways, and that less dangerous substances such as sand be used instead. Calcium chloride, sodium chloride, and similar corrosive substances are hazardous to vehicles. They cause severe rust and corrosion, and even in areas with regular inspections, can lead to failure of vehicle parts, such as the frame, brake lines, and fuel lines, without warning. This is extremely dangerous for the vehicle's occupants and bystanders.
