A couple of months ago, 27 innocent 5 year olds were murdered in Newtown, Connecticut. The shooter was armed and opened fire with an assault rifle. I can understand the ownership of guns such as hunting rifles for hunting, but the sole purpose of an assault rifle is to murder, and murder is wrong. How many of you have a 5-6 year old brothers, sisters, sons, or daughters? Think about that for a moment. These rifles need to be banned in our society.
