Ban assault weapons and close loopholes at gun shows that allow people to buy guns illegally. Implement new gun laws.

There have been mass slaughters over the years of college students, school children, people at malls, in coffee shops, at theatres and everywhere imaginable. The call of the NRA to arm everyone is absolutely crazy. We need to get high power assault rifles off the streets and confiscate those when they are found. We need sensible gun laws and still let law abiding citizens have guns. The background checks and waiting periods have to be long, in-depth and thorough. Then, once the check is done, the buyer needs to go in front of a court or other law official and bring a witness to testify to his/her ability to handle a gun. This is what they do in some European countries and it works.
