Students of all ages in the United States are already put under enough pressure during the school, and we are continuing to chain them to their responsibilities even after school with homework assignments. This may not seem serious as a stand-alone issue, but the secondary problems that come with it can be a real struggle. It can indirectly and adversely affect a student's health. Students who are staying up late into the night, struggling to complete homework assignments, will never get the recommended amount of sleep. This can severely affect heart and brain function and actually prevent students from being able to properly learn in their early classes due to lack of sleep, starting a vicious cycle. My limited amount of characters has forced me to stop here, so please consider this.
