Ban assualt weapons for public use.

There is no reason for any citizen to kill large groups of people at once. There for, there is no need for automatic assault weapons. Citizens can protect themselves fine with handguns, shot-guns and knives. Assault weapons are designed for mass-destruction, for killing alot of people quickly. That is not what the founding fathers were talking about when they instituted the right to bear arms... Should citizens have the right to bombs? Missiles? Tanks? No, Assault rifles are not nessesary to protect your family. Do people imagine a giant army is coming to their house, Do they think that they have to single handedly battle this army? The only reason a citizen needs an assault rifle, is to shoot cans in their back yard faster. Is that worth all the lives that are lost because they exist?
