As you may or may not know, Time Warner and Comcast are set to merge in 2014 as part of a $45 billion deal initiated by the executives of the two companies. With this merger, Time Warner will become part of Comcast, with Comcast owning 19 of 20 of America's major broadband internet markets.
Comcast limits usage of its services, such as not allowing HBO GO on the Roku(R) device, or limiting internet usage to 300GB as part of its plan, after which an additional 50GB can be purchased for $10.
I propose that as part of the TWC/Comcast merger, the entities should agree to regulations that will ban the use of bandwidth quotas by any service provider, ban the blocking of services per device and ensure that all network transmissions are treated equally over providers' networks.
