In the past few years, numerous businesses such as Walmart, Sears, K-mart, and Target have begun opening for Black Friday during Thanksgiving night, usually at 8 or 9 PM. K-mart, in fact, is planning on opening at FIVE IN THE MORNING and staying open for FORTY-ONE consecutive hours until 11 PM on the following Friday.
It is a massive shame to our country that corporations are so greedy that they are willing to take away one of the most important days of the year from American families simply to make an additional few bucks. I can understand a corporation attempting to give consumers deals to attract more customers, but opening on Thanksgiving is without a doubt crossing the line.
