We the people want to ban the death penalty. The Declaration of Independence clearly states,
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."
The government nor the people have a right to take another life because it is an unalienable right.
The Bill of Rights also dictates that,
"Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted."
Death is cruel as well as an unusual punishment.
Capital punishment violates the rights guaranteed us in the Declaration of Independence and the Eighth Amendment to the Constitution and is in disagreement to all US charters.
