On September 21st, 2011 the state of Georgia executed Troy Anthony Davis for the murder of an off duty police officer despite the fact that evidence was not clear and 7 of the 9 witnesses went back on what they originally said. One innocent person dying at the hands on the state is too many. No other first world country still uses this form of punishment, the US is behind the times in comparison and it is time to end this barbaric practice. Putting someone on death row to wait 5, 10, 15, 20 years to be executed is cruel and unusual punishment and it should be banned.
